Lacquer, Varnish and Polyurethane coatings

 Lacquers, Varnish and Polyurethane coatings are used to as top coats to protect natural wood.  They can be applied on bare wood or over stained wood.  Lacquers can be used on interior cabinets, doors and trim.  Polyurethanes are used on interior surfaces requiring a harder finish such as counter tops and can also be used for cabinets and trim.  Varnish is generally used on outside surfaces that are prone to weather.
